Lycamobile Commercial

We went and shot a zero budget commercial for Lycamobile to see what we could come up with.

The idea had to sell across the no roaming charges and so we thought of a comical idea that involved being stranded on an island.

You would be surprised at the amount of vfx and compositing we used to create this! Watch how we did all the vfx and compositing here:

Slovenia Quest

Whilst visiting Slovenia we decided to showcase our cinematography skills whilst also showing the beauty of this hidden gem, Slovenia.

Cinematic Promo at IHS

"Cinematic Promo" is a trading name of Aizen Digital limited. With its release this week, we have marketed it at the Independent Hotel Show in Olympia, London. The Independent Hotel Show is a major exhibition, catering towards hoteliers and a variety of companies within the hotel industry, so this gave us a great opportunity to promote our company to potential clients and the hotel industry in general. The event lasted two days and we had a fantastic time, generating a lot of interest. It was amazing how many people wanted to see our epic VFX reel!

As well as having a booth we were also shooting videos for two clients. We filmed videos for Conran + Partners who were responsible for the interior design of the VIP lounge "On Cloud Nine", and we shot a video of the Independent Hotel Show itself! Shooting videos for two clients as well as running a booth simultaneously over the space of a few days was a huge challenge! Thankfully we can say that everything went very well, so keep your eyes peeled for the release of the videos!

Cinematic Promo will be the branding name we use for our videos that cater towards industries such as travel, tourism and leisure etc. You can find out more by visiting the site here.

Kickstart Campaign: EDEN STAR

Eden Star is an immersive first-person, survival-creation game; blending unique physics-based combat, destructible environments, freeform construction, resource management and completely dynamic, freerunning navigation.

We at Aizen Digital had the pleasure of shooting their kickstarter campaign creating an intense video with game cinematics and awesome motion graphics. It was a great pleasure working with them and testing out the game first hand. It really will become an 'A list' game over night. An incredible feat for such a small team, the game has incredible mechanics and is addictively entertaining.

Hollywood Appraisal on Aizen Digital VFX

The VFX work of myself on behalf of Aizen Digital was praised by Director Paul WS Anderson on the film The Shot.

Here is what Staffordshire University wrote about it:

Hollywood praise for Staffordshire Graduate Miren Patel on Staffs University Website

“I can’t believe how much money I spend on visual effects houses around the world but all of you take note – Miren did a hell of a lot better than a lot of you do!”

- Paul WS Anderson

Mobile Architecture

We've been out at Reading for the last week filming a documentary about Mobile Architecture. Student architect Kieran Cronin has been building his very own custom trailer to take travelling around Europe! After designing the project he has taken on the build single handed over the period of a month of dedication.

The trailer is equipped with a giant viewing window, a garage for a super powered motorbike, an ergonomically designed bench, an outdoor shower and a neat tuck away table. Filming has been completed as of yesterday and Kieran will be commencing his travels Monday!

You can follow his adventures on the build on his tumblr here: http://kc-architecture.tumblr.com/

Our first After Effects tutorial!

We've created our first tutorial on camera fly throughs, a signature move used by me, Miren... I love helicopter shots, there pretty epic! I've spent quite some time perfecting them. This tutorial is quite long, I cover all the basic level knowledge and then I cover all the intermediate level. However if I was to cover the advance aspects of light wrap and other nifty things the tutorial would probably be 2 hours long! :|

Tell us what you think of the tutorial, pros and cons. There will be more to come so subscribe on YouTube!

The Shot wins Reel13 & gets on PBS Thirteen!!

Our popular film The Shot recently got into the finalists of the Reel 13 Tumblr Month Competition. It was down to public voting between The Shot and 2 other films to take the grand prize. On edge, the first day of voting saw us with 10 votes compared to our main opponent with 80 votes. With an enormous push from our fans and friends we managed to fight for glory getting support over the last 2 days of the voting period slowly but surely closing in on our rivals. We beat their vote count in the last few hours of the competition with a final tally of over 300!

As award for the win, our film was aired on PBS THIRTEEN, the flagship public media entity of the NYC Tri-state area! We captured a screen shot of the scheduling for our life scrapbook...

The London Sci-Fi 48 Hour Film Challenge 2013

Hi guys! We had entered into the London sci-fi 48hour film challenge this year and we churned out an awesome film.

The challenge is basically to create a film from start to finish in 48 hours, there was no sleep on my half and I was pretty delusional at the end. Shaun Dent our writer was with us during the post production as my wake up man.. a job that entales waking me up...  I literally couldn't think of anything more creative to say.

From the London Sci-Fi Website:

We will ask your team to come to the BFI Southbank on Saturday 6 April at 10.00am where we give you the TITLE of the film you will make, some DIALOGUE that one of your characters must say to screen, and a list of PROPS that must be seen in the film. We also give you an optional scientific theme... this could be nano-tech, cloning, gene-splicing...or something a little more "fringe".

Once you have all your elements, you have until Monday morning to return the completed movie to us.

Watch our completed film right here right now!
